TESTS OF KH-32 MISSILE CAPABLE OF KILLING OF TARGETS AT A DISTANCE OF UP TO 1,000 KILOMETERS ARE BEING COMPLETED

Arsenal of Russian long-range bombers with variable-sweep wing Tu-22M3 (Backfire according to NATO designation) will be refilled with the newest cruise missiles KH-32 soon. They are practically invulnerable for enemy air defense assets and interceptors.
A source in the military industrial complex confirms that tests of KH-32 missiles are approaching completion and the product is at a high degree of technical readiness. Representatives of Tactical Missiles Corporation of which machine building design bureau Raduga is a part confirm that work on the newest product is underway but refuse to comment on its progress.
According to Editor-in-Chief of Militaryrussia portal Dmitry Kornev, the newest cruise missile is, first of all, intended for killing of enemy ships, radar stations and so-called radio-contrast objects, that is bridges, military bases and power stations.
Kornev explained:
– After the launch from Tu-22M3 the missile gains altitude of up to 40 kilometers, switched to a horizontal flight, approaches the target and dives at it afterwards. Because KH-32 is equipped with an inertial navigation system and self-holing head with a radar station, the accuracy of its aiming is very big and does not depend on GPS/GLONASS data. The missile will supposedly be able to kill a target at a distance of up to 1,000 kilometers. Along with this, speed of KH-32 is not less than 5,000 kilometers an hour. The embodied combination of speed and flight trajectory makes the missile practically invulnerable for air defense missiles and fighters of the enemy.
The new cruise missile represents development of KH-22 family of missiles that have until recently been the main weapon of both supersonic bombers Tu-22M3 and older Tu-22M2 removed from service.
