The second international military technological forum Army-2016 opened in Kubinka in Moscow Region on the territory of military patriotic park of culture and leisure of the Armed Forces Patriot.
THE SECOND INTERNATIONAL MILITARY TECHNOLOGICAL FORUM ARMY-2016 OPENED IN KUBINKA
The second international military technological forum Army-2016 opened in Kubinka in Moscow Region on the territory of military patriotic park of culture and leisure of the Armed Forces Patriot.
Greeting participants of the forum at the solemn ceremony of its opening, Army General Sergei Shoigu remarked that this big-scale event provided a perfect opportunity for direct communication of Russian and foreign designers and manufacturers of military and dual-purpose products.
Speaking about growth of interest in the forum not only in our country but also outside of it expressed in growth of the quantity of participants (more than 1,000 domestic enterprises and organizations, delegations from more than 80 countries), the Defense Minister reported that for the first time national sections were opened by our CSTO allies: Belarus, Kazakhstan and Armenia.
The Defense Minister stated:
– Such a broad representation definitely contributes to activation of international partnership in the military field. The congress and exhibition center was created for this purpose. All necessary conditions were created in it. Pavilions were built with overall area bigger than 80,000 square meters. They include 28 conference halls. Demonstration centers were built for products of the leading indusial enterprises. More than 100,000 square meters of universal open sites were allocated for demonstration of armament.
The Defense Minister also expressed an assurance that Army-2016 forum would contribute to constructive exchange of opinions of representatives of defense ministries and research and production sectors of the member states. More than 100 official events were included into the business program of the forum for this purpose and the first of them took place on the opening day under supervision of the Defense Minister. This was a meeting dedicated to further strengthening of military, production, research and technological cooperation.
“At the margin” of the forum the Defense Minister of Russia signed an agreement with his colleague from Tanzania on military cooperation between our countries. A contract on reception of servicemen of Tanzania for education at military educational institutions of the Russian Defense Ministry was also signed in presence of Army General Sergei Shoigu and Defense Minister of Tanzania Hussein Mwinyi.
Shoigu spoke about positive dynamic of the Russian-Qatar military and military technological cooperation at a meeting with Defense Minister of Qatar Khalid bin Mohammed al-Attiyah.
A meeting of Shoigu with Defense Minister of Bolivia Reymi Ferreira also took place “at the margin” of the forum. In the course of the meeting the parties signed an agreement on military cooperation between defense ministries of the two countries.
It is known that the level of our interaction with Belarusian colleagues is the closest. Nonetheless, there exist possibilities for its further development. Defense Minister of Belarus Lieutenant General Andrei Ravkov announced this at the forum meaning readiness of “organization of the defense sector of the economy of Belarus for full-scale participation in fulfillment of the state defense order of Russia in cooperation with enterprises of the military industrial complex of our Russian colleagues.”
According to him, it is necessary to use scientific and production capabilities of Russia and Belarus in development of new models of armament, military and special hardware in the framework of state programs broader.
