“The train which arrived recently has nothing unusual. The irradiated fuel from the NPS Kursk doesn’t differ from the nuclear waste which had worked out in reactors of any other nuclear-powered submarines,” Yevgeny Ryzhkov, director of Mayak’s public relations service said. (…)
According to earlier reports, the Kursk’s reactors hadn’t been damaged in the catastrophe. The train prepared in strict compliance with the regulations, was handed over to the guard and escorted to the Mayak plant. (…)
