In Moscow a conference devoted to the operation of raising the sunken nuclear-powered Kursk submarine has been held. Deputy Prime Ministers Ilya Klebanov and Valentina Matvienko, Presidential Aide Sergey Yastrzhembsky, and Chief Commander of the Russian Navy, Vladimir Kuroedov, participated.
Beginning today, the process of raising the Kursk submarine will be accessible on the Internet on a special information site. Russian Public Television is sponsoring the site, and the address is kursk.strana.ru. There one can find the full collection of documents connected with raising the submarine, complete with experts’ opinions, a database of the dead crew-members, and an archive of publications concerning the Kursk. The site will continually update information regarding the meteorological and ecological situation in the area of operations.
