SUMMARY:
The Sunday Times quotes a Russian admiral as saying on conditions of anonymity that the Kursk was killed presumably by a Granit missile launched by the Pyotr Veliky. Allegedly the missile did not acquire and fell into the sea right above the submarine. The admiral proceeds to say that all documents related to the catastrophe are missing. “There are certain circles that do not want the truth about the catastrophe known,” he says.
Relatives of at least twenty Kursk submariners organized a protest action demanding full access to all documents that may explain the death of the submarine.
Officials reiterate that findings of the investigation will be revealed after the operation in the Barents Sea scheduled for summer.
