To Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Kasianov Parlamentskaya Gazeta, March 21, 2001, p. 3
The governmental commission plans to have the nuclear submarine Kursk lifted from the seabed in 2001. To date, all technical and organizational problems related to the project have been successfully negotiated. Along with that the government of the Russian Federation delays the tackling of organizational-financial and essentially political issues of the future operation. The draft resolution of the government does not even contemplate Russia’s financial involvement in the operation together with the Kursk International Foundation. If the resolution is late in coming, Russia alone will have to finance the project.
Request an expeditious solution to the problems. Please, inform the Duma of the measures taken.
