A SUDDEN CHECK OF COMBAT READINESS OF TROOPS CONTINUES IN THE ARMED FORCES

On Saturday, the Armed Forces completed creation of a powerful group of forces capable of big-scale combat operations in the southwest of the country. Mechanized infantry, tank and artillery formations and units, air defense forces and means, as well as units of special forces brigades of the Central and Western military districts, Airborne Force, airplanes of fighter and bomber aviation of the Airspace Forces and maritime aviation of the Northern Fleet were moved to the territory of the Southern Military District in the course of the sudden check of combat readiness started last Thursday. Some military units arrived from a distance of more than 2,000 kilometers. Command bodies of the strategic command, formations and units of the Southern Military District went out to the combined-arms training ranges and to the appointed areas of concentration.

The information and mass communications department of the Defense Ministry reported, “At present, troops of the Southern Military District at training ranges take measures for preparation for control and checking exercises and training and fulfillment of combat training tasks.”

It was necessary to say separately that units of the airborne assault brigade of the Airborne Forces and marine brigade of the Caspian Flotilla were moved to unfamiliar training ranges in Crimea and in Krasnodar Territory. During the marches these formations worked out matters of loading of the personnel, military hardware and materiel on sea ferryboats, as well as railway platforms of near-port stations in Novorossiysk and in Kerch in practice.

Five thousand artillery servicemen and more than 500 units of hardware and missile and artillery armament are used in the exercises in the Southern Military District. Among them are crews of tactical theater missile systems Iskander-M, multiple rocket launcher systems Grad, Tornado-G and Uragan, self-propelled 152-mm howitzers 2S3 Akatsiya, 2S1 Gvozdika, Msta-S and Msta-B and antitank missile systems and mortars. They will have to work out methods of use of the newest portable radar systems for reconnaissance and firing control Aistenok. The system detects moving ground hardware at distances of up to 20 kilometers, which allows delivery of forestalling blows on the enemy. Automatics of the system can calculate parameters of flight of mortar shells and artillery projectiles, determine the point of their launch and carry out efficient anti-battery fighting.

An experiment is conducted in the course of the sudden check for creation of a new system for preparation and accumulation of mobilization human resources, several units of territorial troops will be formed for the first time. After completion of formation and passage of military refresher courses units of the territorial troops manned with reservists will participate in practical events of strategic exercises Caucasus-2016.

With regard to thee events chair of the defense committee Vladimir Komoedov expressed his surprise by the fact that representative of the US Department of Defense Michelle Baldanza expressed concern about the sudden check of combat readiness in the Armed Forces. Komoedov said, “I have not heard Russian politicians and military officials watch the internal checks that take place regularly not only on the territory of the US but also at American bases all over the world so attentively.”

Military officials overseas are probably right being so nervous. Simultaneously with military exercises reports about new achievements of the military industrial complex appear in our country too. Last Friday, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said frankly, “With regard to some topics related to antimissile defense and early warning system we achieved very big success. I cannot speak about this, but believe me, we have progressed much in the last few years.”
