Ilya Klebanov, chair of the state commission for investigating the Kursk disaster and Minister for Industry, Science, and Technology, has stated that the state commission and the prosecutor’s office will announce the official theory on the sinking after raising fragments of the first compartment of the submarine. The minister hopes that the operation will finish by the end of June. Klebanov noted that to all appearances the prosecutor’s office will continue investigation within the framework of a criminal case after announcing the cause of the sinking.
