A plan on raising fragments of the first compartment of the NPS Kursk has been approved: it is supposed that only a part of the compartment will be raised, Deputy Prime Minister Ilya Klebanov said on February 1.
According to Klebanov, it is known already which fragments of the compartment will be surfaced. After that, containment measures on the bottom of the Barents Sea will be put in place in order to protect the environment. Only Russia’s companies will be involved in the operation of raising. The operation will be completed in June – early August, deputy prime minister said.
