DUTCH COMPANY MAMMOET TO LIFT KURSK SUBMARINE

May 18 a contract for raising the Russian Kursk submarine was signed with the Dutch company Mammoet. With, offices in more than ten countries, Mammoet has been specializing in extremely heavy transportation and lifting projects for about 30 years. The equipment offered by the company for lifting the submarine can operate at a sea storm of not more than 2.5-3.5 points, reports the General Director of Mammoet, Van Seumeren.

Seumeren adds that, initially, the Russian party proposed that Mammoet raise the submarine in January 2001.
